Unable to install ViewPoint or supporting software

When you install
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
, the setup program checks for and installs required prerequisite software if necessary, and then installs
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
. If any of the required software did not install successfully, or if the setup program did not finish as expected, consider the following potential causes and remedies.
Unsupported operating system
For the latest compatibility information, refer to the Product Compatibility and Download Center.
TIP:
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
is tested and supported on
Windows
operating systems installed from original
Microsoft
media only. Using an unsupported operating system is not recommended.
Problem specified in installation log files
The
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
setup program records logs of the installation process that can be reviewed by technical support representatives to troubleshoot the behavior you observed.
  • On the computer where you installed
    FactoryTalk ViewPoint
    , open the
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Rockwell\Install Logs
    folder, and then copy the
    FactoryTalk ViewPoint Server
    and
    Rockwell Automation Software
    log files.
