Specify the
FactoryTalk Directory
location to select which computer hosts the network directory. FactoryTalk ViewPoint Administration
uses this directory to find applications to publish and to authenticate user groups. Changing this setting affects all Rockwell Automation
software that connects to the network directory on the FactoryTalk ViewPoint
server.To specify the
FactoryTalk Directory
location- On theFactoryTalk ViewPointServer computer, clickStart > All Programs > Rockwell Software >, and then clickFactoryTalkToolsSpecify.FactoryTalk DirectoryLocation
- If you receive a prompt to sign in, type a user name and password, and then clickOK.IMPORTANT:The account must have administrative privileges inWindows®and theFactoryTalkNetwork Directory on the computer that hosts theFactoryTalk Directory.
- In the, click the browse button.FactoryTalk DirectoryServer Location Utility
- In thedialog box, select theFactoryTalk DirectoryServer Configurationlocation:FactoryTalk Directory
- This computer- The network directory is hosted locally on this computer.
- Remote computer- The network directory is hosted on the specified computer.
- ClickOK.TIP:TheFactoryTalkuser accounts listed on theSecurity Settingspage depend on the application type selected. For example, if you select Site Edition (Network) accounts in the current network directory are displayed. Users in differentFactoryTalkDirectories must be assigned toFactoryTalk ViewPointsecurity groups separately.
