Alarm summary does not show events

If a
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
alarm summary does not show any events, consider the following potential causes and remedies.
Alarms are filtered
If the alarm summary has an active filter, alarms you expect to see may be hidden.
  • Clear any active alarm filters.
Networking and communications failure
If networking and communications have failed on the host computer, the
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
server will be unable to communicate with the
FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
servers.
  • If possible, configure and launch a
    FactoryTalk View
    client instance on the same computer that runs the
    FactoryTalk ViewPoint
    server and observe its behavior.
    If the same alarm summary does not show any events, the problem is not in the FactoryTalk ViewPoint but at the lower levels such as the networking and communications.
FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
server not running or detecting alarms
If the
FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
server is not running or is not detecting any alarms, the
FactoryTalk ViewPoint
server will be unable to communicate with it or will receive no alarms.
  • Verify the
    FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
    service is running.
