Define a client key

Use the Client Keys editor to define a client key in a client keys file. You can set up multiple client keys in one client keys file.
To define a client key:
  1. In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , in the Explorer windows, navigation to
    Logic and Control
    , right-click
    Client Keys
    and select
    New
    .
  2. In the
    Client Keys
    editor, click
    Add
    .
  3. In the
    Add Key
    dialog box, select a key from the
    Key
    list.
  4. To create a key sequence, select
    Control
    ,
    Shift
    or both, and then click
    OK
    .
  5. In the
    Client Keys
    editor, type a label for the client key.
  6. Click the
    Browse
    button (...) beside the
    Press Action
    ,
    Repeat Action
    , or
    Release Action
    field, to open the
    Command Wizard
    and choose a command or macro for the action.
    TIP:
    If a key action is to perform a task such as calling a macro, you should use the press or release action.
  7. When complete, click
    OK
    .
  8. If prompted, provide a name for the client keys file.
