Set up object key animation

Use the Object Keys option on the Edit menu to define control keys for an object. You can also assign an index number to the object, specify whether or not a highlight is displayed around the object when it is selected at runtime, and specify a current [tag] for the object.
To define an object key:
  1. Right-click an object to select it and open its context menu.
  2. Select Object Keys from the context menu.
  3. Click the Add button in Object Keys window.
  4. In the Add Key window specify a key and one or more modifiers, if you want to use them, and then click OK.
  5. In the Object Keys window specify a label and press, repeat, and/or release actions for the key. Click the browse button (...) to open the Command wizard and use it to build a command string for a key's action.
  6. You may specify an index number and current tag for the object and toggle the focus highlight on or off. These attributes are associated with the object, not the object key.
To view the object keys defined for an object:
  • Right-click the object to open its context menu and then select Object Keys from it.
All the keys defined for the object are displayed in the Key box in the Object Keys dialog box. The label and actions for a key are displayed when it is highlighted.
    TIP:
To view the list of object and display keys for an object at runtime, position the arrow cursor over it and press the left mouse button.
Repeat actions should typically be commands that change tag values. Actions that require user input or may take a long time to execute could result in undesirable results.
If you want a key action to perform a task such as calling a macro, you should use the press or release action.
To delete an object key from the list highlight it and then click Remove.
To delete all objects keys defined for an object, click the Remove All button and then click Yes.
