Quick start steps for running an application
These steps explain how to run an application.
TIP:
- To see how an application will behave at runtime, inFactoryTalk View Studio, from theApplicationmenu selectTest Applicationor click theTest Applicationicon on the tool bar.
- If you are using an OPC server, make sure the OPC server is set up before you run the application. See the documentation supplied by your OPC vendor for installation details.
- ForPanelView Plus 7andPanelView Plus 6terminals, the server must be installed on the runtime terminal and must be a local server. ForWindowscomputers, OPC servers can be local or remote.
- If your application uses a third party ActiveX control, make sure a version of the control that is compatible with the runtime operating system is installed and registered on the runtime terminal.
Step 1: Move the application to the runtime terminal or computer
If you run a
PanelView Plus 7
or PanelView Plus 6
terminal, move the runtime application to the terminal using ME Transfer Utility or SD card.If you run a
MobileView™
terminal, move the runtime application to the terminal using ME Transfer Utility or a memory stick.If you run a personal computer, move the application through the Windows Explorer or by copying it to an electronic medium, such as a memory stick.
Step 2: Start

In the dialog box, click

, select the application to load, and click Run Application

TIP:
PanelView Plus 7 Standard terminals and PanelView Plus 6 Compact terminals can only load and run PanelView Plus 7 Standard applications or Compact Machine Edition applications. If you try to start a non-Compact application or a PanelView Plus 7 Performance application on a PanelView Plus 7 Standard terminal or a PanelView Plus 6 Compact terminal, an error message will appear and the application will not be loaded.

applications can be loaded and run on PanelView Plus 7 Performance
