Use the
Modify Group Membership
dialog box to modify a user or group membership at runtime.To modify a user or group membership at runtime
- Press theModify Group Membershipbutton to open theModify Group Membershipdialog box.
- PressSelect User/Groupto open theUser or Group Selectiondialog box.
- PressTypeto selectFactoryTalk User,Windows-linked User, orWindows-linked Group.
- In theSelect User or Groupfield, pressUporDownto select a user or group.
- Press theSelectbutton, orEnter
on the external keyboard to select the user or group.
TIP:TheUser or Group Selectiondialog box only shows the groups and users already configured inFactoryTalk Directoryand packed in the application. - PressFactoryTalk Groupto openFactoryTalk Group Selectiondialog box.
- In theSelect Groupbox, select a group and pressSelect.
- If you want to add the selected user or group to the selectedFactoryTalkgroup, pressAdd to Group.
- If you want to remove the selected user or group from theFactoryTalkgroup, pressRemove from Group.TIP:
- When a user is added to a group, the user will inherit the A-P security code(s) of the group.
- When a user is deleted from a group, the user will not have the A-P security code(s) of the group
- If a user is a member of multiple groups,
- The user will inherit the A-P security code(s) shared by the multiple groups. For example, if a user belongs to both Group One and Group Two; Group One has the security codes of A, B, C, and Group Two has the security codes of B, C, D; the user will only inherit the security codes of B, C.
- When the user is removed from one group, the user is still a member of other groups.
