Use the Modify Group Membership dialog box

Use the
Modify Group Membership
 dialog box to modify a user or group membership at runtime.
To modify a user or group membership at runtime
  1. Press the
    Modify Group Membership
    button to open the
    Modify Group Membership
     dialog box.
  2. Press
    Select User/Group
     to open the
    User or Group Selection
     dialog box.
  3. Press
    Type
     to select
    FactoryTalk User
    ,
    Windows-linked User
    , or
    Windows-linked Group
    .
  4. In the
    Select User or Group
     field, press
    Up
    or
    Down
    to select a user or group.
  5. Press the
    Select
    button, or
    Enter
    Enter symbol on the external keyboard to select the user or group.
    TIP:
    The
    User or Group Selection
     dialog box only shows the groups and users already configured in
    FactoryTalk Directory
     and packed in the application.
  6. Press
    FactoryTalk Group
    to open
    FactoryTalk Group Selection
     dialog box.
  7. In the
    Select Group
     box, select a group and press
    Select
    .
    • If you want to add the selected user or group to the selected
      FactoryTalk
       group, press
      Add to Group
      .
    • If you want to remove the selected user or group from the
      FactoryTalk
       group, press
      Remove from Group
      .
      TIP:
      • When a user is added to a group, the user will inherit the A-P security code(s) of the group.
      • When a user is deleted from a group, the user will not have the A-P security code(s) of the group
      • If a user is a member of multiple groups,
        • The user will inherit the A-P security code(s) shared by the multiple groups. For example, if a user belongs to both Group One and Group Two; Group One has the security codes of A, B, C, and Group Two has the security codes of B, C, D; the user will only inherit the security codes of B, C.
        • When the user is removed from one group, the user is still a member of other groups.
