[ALARM] display

When you create a project, the application creates a default graphic display called [ALARM] that contains an alarm banner object.
The default [ALARM] display contains the following buttons:
  • Ack Alarm
  • Silence Alarms
  • Clear Alarm Banner
  • Close
The application monitors the trigger connections that you set up for alarms to determine when to open the alarm display.
TIP:
  • If you use the default alarm display, it opens automatically whenever a trigger connection value matches a trigger value.
  • To use your own display, on the
    Advanced
    tab of the
    Alarm Setup
    editor, in the
    Current alarms
field, replace the default [ALARM] display with your own display.
  • If you set up your own graphic display, use an On Top display, otherwise an error will be generated when the runtime application is created. You can also select the
    Cannot Be Replaced
    option on the
    General
    tab of the
    Display Settings
dialog box so when a message occurs, your display will open on top of the current display, and will remain open until the operator closes it.
  • Filtering alarms on the display object that opens automatically when alarms occur is not recommended. It is assumed that the user will want this display to register all alarms. If you do filter alarms on a display, be sure to clear the
    Display
    check box on the
    Messages
    tab of the
    Alarm Setup
editor for all the alarms that have been filtered out. Otherwise the display will open automatically when the alarm occurs, but the alarm object (banner or list) will be blank because the alarm that was triggered has been filtered out for that object.
