Options on the General tab of the Piloted Control List Selector Properties dialog box

The following table shows the options on the
General
tab of the
Piloted Control List Selector
Properties
dialog box.
Options
Descriptions
Appearance
Specify the object's appearance in this area.
Border style
Select a border style for the object.
Border width
Type the number of pixels for the width of the object’s border.
Back style
Specifies the object background. Available options are:
  • Solid.
    The object’s background is filled with a solid color specified in the
    Back color
    option.
  • Gradient
    . The object's background is filled with a linear gradient color.
Pattern style
Select a pattern for the object. The pattern appears on the face of the object. The pattern does not cover the object’s border or captions (if any are defined for the object). If the object’s back style is gradient, the pattern is not visible.
Border uses back color
Select this check box to use the object’s background color for the border of the object.
Clear this check box to use the selected
Border Color
.
Back color
This box shows the current background color for the object. Click it to select another color.
If the background style is gradient, click it to open the gradient fill dialog box to configure the gradient fill.
Border color
This box shows the border color for the object. Click it to select another color.
If
Border uses back color
is not selected, this color appears at runtime.
Pattern color
This box shows the current pattern color for the object. Click it to select another color.
Selection back color
This box shows the color for the highlight bar. Click it to select another color. The highlight bar indicates the currently selected ingredient at runtime.
Selection fore color
This box shows the color for the caption on the highlighted ingredient. Click it to select another color.
Blink
Select this check box if you want the object’s background to blink at runtime. The blink rate is twice per second.
At runtime, the selected state does not blink; only the background of the object blinks.
If a pattern style is selected, the pattern also blinks.
Text
The text settings apply to the numeric values in the display.
Font
Select the font to use for the text.
Size
Select the font size to use for the text.
Bold, Italic, Underline
Select a font style for the text, if required.
Caption truncate
Select
Word
if you want captions that exceed the maximum length to be cut off at the beginning of a new word.
Select
Character
if you want the caption to be cut off whenever the maximum caption length is reached, even if this occurs in the middle of a word.
The maximum caption length depends on the width of the object and the font size.
When a caption has been truncated, the application places an asterisk (*) at the right end of the caption to indicate that text is missing.
Number of states
Select the number of states for the object.
Other
Write on enter
Select this check box to write to the data source when the operator presses the
Enter
key button or the
Enter
key on a keyboard or keypad, while the object is selected on the display.
Clear this check box to write the state value to the data source as soon as a new state is selected.
Key navigation
Select this check box to allow the user to navigate to the object using the keyboard and give the object input focus.
Wrap around
Select this check box if you want the list to wrap from the end of the list to the beginning when scrolling down, and from the beginning of the list to the end when scrolling up.
