Alarm list

Alarm list shows a list of triggered alarms, with the newest alarms on top. When a trigger connection at the data source matches a message’s trigger value at runtime, an alarm appears in the alarm list.
Use an alarm list to notify the operator when a situation requiring immediate attention occurs. For example, the list could show a message that warns the operator that the pressure in a boiler is too high.
TIP:
  • Set up the alarm messages and their trigger values in the
    Alarm Setup
    editor.
  • You can place an alarm list on any display in the project.
  • The number of alarm messages that fits on the display depends on the height of the alarm list, the font size, and the number of lines specified per alarm specified in the
    Alarm List Properties
     dialog box. If the message is too long to fit on the display, the last shown character is replaced with an asterisk (*).
When a display containing an alarm list object is opened, the alarm indicator (highlight bar or cursor) is at the top of the list, on the most recent alarm. As new alarms come in, the old alarms scroll down, but the indicator remains at the top.
If the highlight bar on the alarm list object is not at the top of the list, for example, the operator select an alarm other than the top one in the list, the list will not scroll down when new alarms are triggered. Therefore the new alarms will not automatically appear at the top of the list. If the highlight bar is moved, or if the screen is refreshed (by a screen change, for example), the new alarms appear at the top of the list.
