Set up alarms for an alarm banner

Use the
Alarm
tab of the
Alarm Banner
dialog box to specify what alarms will be shown and how they will be shown.
To specify what alarms will be shown and how they will be shown
  1. In the
    Graphics Display
editor, double-click the alarm banner to open its
    Properties
    dialog box.
  2. On the
    Alarm
tab, select the alarm settings, that is, how the alarms will be queued what alarms will be shown, and what information will be shown for each alarm.
  3. Specify what trigger labels will be filtered, if any.
    TIP:
If a message defined on the
    Messages
    tab of the
    Alarm Setup
editor uses an embedded variable to show the value of an alarm, and if that alarm is in alarm when the application starts up, the alarm banner will show question marks in place of the embedded variable. This is because the alarm system cannot determine when the alarm was triggered, and therefore cannot determine what the value of the variable was at that time. After the value has been reset to 0, the embedded variable value will show accurately the next time the alarm is triggered.
