Options on the General tab of the Gauge Properties dialog box

The following table shows the options on the
General
tab of the
Gauge Properties
dialog box.
Options
Descriptions
Appearance
Specify the object's appearance in this area.
Back style
Specifies the object background. Available options are:
  • Solid.
    The object’s background is filled with a solid color specified in the
    Back color
    option.
  • Transparent
    . The object’s background is not filled and any objects behind it show through.
  • Gradient
    . The object's background is filled with a linear gradient color.
Line style
Select the line style. If you select a style other than
Solid
, the line width must be 1 pixel.
Dash-Dot
and
Dash-Dot-Dot
show as
Dot
on the PanelView Plus family terminals.
The line properties apply to the dial outline and tick marks.
Line width
Type the number of pixels for the width of the object's line. Any line style other than solid must have a width of 1 pixel.
Sweep style
Specify whether to color the area behind the needle as the value changes.
Select
Solid fill
or
Gradient fill
to use the fill color to color the portion of the gauge behind the needle that has a value less than or equal to the Value connection.
Select
Point
to point the needle at the value of the Value connection.
Needle width
Type the number of pixels for the width of the gauge’s needle.
Major ticks
Select the number of major ticks on the scale. You must use at least two major ticks (one for each end of the dial).
Minor ticks
Select the number of minor ticks on the scale. This number of ticks appears between each major tick.
Font
Select the font to use for the legends.
Specify whether to use legends on the
Display
tab.
Size
Select the font size to use for the legends.
Bold, Italic, Underline
Select a font style for the legends, if required.
Back color
This box shows the current background color for the object. Click it to select another color.
If the background style is transparent, the application does not use this background color.
If the background style is gradient, click it to bring up the
Gradient Fill
dialog box to configure the gradient fill.
Fill color
This box shows the current fill color for the gauge. Click it to select another color. If the sweep style is gradient, click it to bring up the
Gradient fill
dialog box to configure the gradient fill. This color is not used if you select point for the sweep style.
If you specify thresholds for the gauge, you can also assign a fill color to each threshold on the
Display
tab.
Needle color
This box shows the current needle color for the gauge. Click it to select another color.
Fore color
This box shows the current color for the gauge's scale, that is, the curved line and the ticks that form the dial shape. Click it to select another color.
