Set up hyperlink animation
With hyperlink animation, an object links to a destination. When the object is clicked at runtime, in Test application mode, or in Test Display mode, the linked destination opens. The destination can be a file, a web page, or a program.
Hyperlink animation is available for all drawing objects except image and panel objects which only support visibility animation.
To set up hyperlink animation for an object
- Select the object.
- From theAnimationmenu, selectHyperlink.
- On theHyperlinktab, in theAddressbox, specify an expression that represents the linked destination by any of the following methods:
- Type a URL address or a file path. It must be enclosed in double quotes (“ ”). When entering a URL address on aPanelView Plus 7orPanelView Plus 6terminal, you must include the protocol name, such ashttp://andhttps://.
- ClickTagto browse for a string tag that represents the URL address or a file path.
- ClickExpressionto open theExpression Editorto create one.
- ClickBrowse for Fileto browse and select a file.
- ClickBrowse the Webto open the default browser on your computer. Then browse to the web page you want to link to, and copy and paste the URL to theExpressionbox.
- When finished, clickApply.TIP:If an object’s hyperlink animation address is a path to a nonexistent file, clicking this object on aPanelView Plus 7orPanelView Plus 6terminal will launch the file type associated program or show an error message.
