Assign function keys to objects

Use the
Key Assignments
option on the display's context menu to assign function keys to graphic objects. When the operator presses the function key at runtime, the object is activated.
TIP:
  • You can assign the function keys
    F1
    through
    F14
    , and
    K1
    through
    K20
    .
  • The list shows all the objects in the graphic display to which a function key can be assigned. If keys have already been assigned to the objects, the key name appears in brackets after the object name.
  • You can also open the
    Key Assignments
    dialog box from the
    Edit
    menu.
To assign a function key to a graphic object
  1. Right-click the mouse in the display to open the context menu.
  2. Click
    Key Assignments
    to open the
    Key Assignment Properties
    dialog box.
  3. In the
    Select an object
    box, select the object. Only those objects in the display that can have keys assigned to them appear in the box.
  4. In the
    Select a key assignment
    box, select the key to use. The assigned function key name appears in brackets after the object name in the
    Select an object
    box.
  5. Repeat for as many keys as you want to assign.
  6. Click
    OK
    to close the dialog box.
To change the function key assigned to a graphic object
  1. Right-click the mouse in the display to open the
    Context
    menu.
  2. Click
    Key Assignments
    to open the
    Key Assignment Properties
    dialog box.
  3. In the
    Select an object
    box, select the object.
  4. In the
    Select a key assignment
    box, select a new key or
    Unassigned
    .
  5. Click
    OK
    to close the dialog box.
Key combination equivalents
If your keyboard does not have more than 12 function keys, you can use the following key combinations to simulate the other keys. If your keypad terminal does not have a
Right-Shift
key, attach a keyboard with a Right-Shift key to enable keys
