Edit messages

Use the
String Edit
dialog box to edit existing messages and to insert embedded variables in messages. You can use embedded variables in local messages, information messages, and alarm messages.
To edit messages
  1. From the
    Edit
     menu, select
    Edit String
    , or right-click the
    Message
     column and select
    Edit String
    .
  2. Type the message text in the text box.
  3. (Optional) Click
    Insert variable
    .
    1. From the list, select the type of variable to be inserted in the caption.
    2. In the dialog box, specify the details of the variable.
      TIP:
      Embedded variables are case sensitive, and must be in the proper format and syntax to work. If you make a mistake, your variable will be treated as a piece of text. Therefore, do not attempt to edit embedded variables manually. Use the
      Insert Variable
      and
      Edit variable
       dialog boxes to avoid problems.
