Embed a variable in a message

You can embed variables in local messages, information messages and alarm messages. Create the message as you normally would, and at the point where you want to insert a variable, open the
Edit String
 dialog box.
To open a dialog box for creating an embedded variable in a message
  1. In the
    Local Messages
    ,
    Information Messages
    , or
    Alarm Setup
     editor, right-click in the
    Message
     column and then click
    Edit String
    .
    or
    From the
    Edit
     menu, select
    Edit String
    .
  2. Click
    Insert Variable
    .
  3. Select the type of variable to insert.
  4. Specify the options.
