OPC Data server properties (Advanced tab)

In the
Advanced
tab you can create a cache of the data server’s tag names, and choose whether to include additional tag information, such as tag data types, in the cache. Creating a cache lets you browse for tags when the server is not available.
To create a tag cache for a data server
  1. In the
    Explorer
     window, right-click the data server icon and then select
    Properties
    from the
    Context
     menu.
  2. On the
    Advanced
    tab, click the check box labeled
    Include extended information in the server cache file
     if you want extended tag information to be available in the cache.
  3. Click the
    Create Cache
     button to create the cache. If the cache already exists, the button caption will be Synchronize and the button will allow you to update the cache contents.
Options
  • Include extended information in the server cache file
    Click this check box to include extended information. Including extended information will increase the time needed to create or synchronize the cache.
