Find, group, and add devices for monitoring in the web client

How do I open the Find Machines dialog box?
On the FactoryTalk Updater main page, select
Find Machines
webclientFindMachines.
Use the
Find Machines
dialog box to find and group devices on a network and add them to the main page for monitoring.
To find and group devices
  1. On the main menu bar, select the
    Find Machines
    icon webclientFindMachines to open the
    Find Machines
    dialog box.
    • To scan the network and find machines automatically, select
      Auto Discover
      .
    • To search for machines using an IP address or a range of addresses, select
      Manual
      . To search for a specific machine, select
      Single
      and enter the machine's IP address. To search for machines within a range of IP addresses, select
      Range
      and enter the range of IP addresses.
  2. Select
    Find Machines
    to locate machines that are not connected to the current server. The found machines appear in a table that lists each machine's name and IP address. Found machines are
    Ungrouped
    by default.
  3. To assign a machine to an existing group, select the menu icon dropdown_menuIcon in the
    Group
    column and select a group. Machines left ungrouped appear only on the
    All Machines
    list.
    TIP: To add multiple machines to the same group, select the checkboxes for the machines. In
    Add selected machines to
    at the bottom of the page, select a group.
  4. To add machines to the main page, select the checkbox for the machines and select
    Add Machines
    .
    TIP: On the main page, drag and drop to add machines to a group. Hover over a group name and select the
    Edit
    icon webclientEditIcon or the
    Delete
    icon webclientDeleteIcon to edit or delete a group.
  5. In the
    Enter the Credential
    dialog box, enter the administrator's username and password of the selected machines, and then select
    OK
    .
