How do I open the Find
Machines dialog box?
On the FactoryTalk Updater main page, select

Find Machines
.Use the
Find Machines
dialog box to find and group devices on a network and add them to the main page for monitoring. To find and group devices
- On the main menu bar, select theFind Machinesicon
to open the Find Machinesdialog box.- To scan the network and find machines automatically, selectAuto Discover.
- To search for machines using an IP address or a range of addresses, selectManual. To search for a specific machine, selectSingleand enter the machine's IP address. To search for machines within a range of IP addresses, selectRangeand enter the range of IP addresses.
- SelectFind Machinesto locate machines that are not connected to the current server. The found machines appear in a table that lists each machine's name and IP address. Found machines areUngroupedby default.
- To assign a machine to an existing group, select the menu icon
in the Groupcolumn and select a group. Machines left ungrouped appear only on theAll Machineslist.TIP: To add multiple machines to the same group, select the checkboxes for the machines. InAdd selected machines toat the bottom of the page, select a group. - To add machines to the main page, select the checkbox for the machines and selectAdd Machines.TIP: On the main page, drag and drop to add machines to a group. Hover over a group name and select theEditicon
or the Deleteicon
to edit or delete a group. - In theEnter the Credentialdialog box, enter the administrator's username and password of the selected machines, and then selectOK.
