CODESYS Driver

Observe these guidelines when working with CODESYS driver.

Supported controllers

CODESYS SoftPLC
Instances of the CODESYS® SoftPLC can be installed on devices running Windows® 10/11 x64 or Linux-based systems. This driver provides seamless access to both platforms.
CODESYS-compatible devices
Devices running the CODESYS runtime environment are also supported.
TIP: The CODESYS driver is tested and validated with the CODESYS SoftPLC.

Controller tags import

This driver supports importing tags directly from the connected controller or by loading an XML file containing the tag definitions. You can import tags in these modes:
Online mode
Use online mode to import tags directly from the controller at design time or runtime.
Offline mode
For more information, refer to the product documentation.
The CODESYS communication driver supports importing custom data types defined in the controller project in the offline mode.

TIP: Rockwell Automation recommends that DATE, TIME_OF_DAY(TOD), DATE_AND_TIME(DT) use the DATE AND TIME object for setting and viewing date and time data.
