Manage client devices
Add, remove, duplicate, and select target client devices available in the network.
The default target client device, the
Emulator
, runs locally on the development computer. The Emulator
is useful for testing FactoryTalk Optix Applications
and does not require you to install the FactoryTalk Optix Application Update Service
software.
TIP:
The
Emulator
runtime stops automatically after two hours even if a valid license is present on the device. If you need to test your application for a longer period of time, export the application. See Export a FactoryTalk Optix Application.
TIP:
Rebooting the
Emulator
is not supported so that you do not accidentally reboot a device on which Windows®
