Configure non-standard units of measure
You can configure non-standard units of measure in the
Engineering Units Dictionary
. Using non-standard units of measure you can, for example, express the number of pieces produced in one hour in beats per minute.Non-standard units of measure have specific properties.
Slope
is the conversion coefficient to convert the standard unit value to the non-standard unit. Intercept
is the value to add to the referenced unit of measure. The conversion is performed using the linear expression  Y = M x X + Q
 where X
 is the input value, M
 is the slope, and Q
is the intercept that calculates the Y
 output result- InProject view, right-clickModel.

- In thePhysical dimensioncolumn, select the reference quantity for the non-standard unit of measure. For example, for the beats per minute, select .
- In theDisplay namecolumn, type the name of the unit of measure.
- In theDescriptioncolumn, type a description for the unit of measure.TIP:NameandDescriptionare both translatable through theLocalizationDictionaryobject.
- In theSlopecolumn, enter the conversion coefficient for the standard unit value. For example, enter60to calculate beats per minute.
- In theInterceptcolumn, enter the value to add to the referenced unit of measure. For example, enter0.
The resulting unit of measure appears in the
Result
 column.
     TIP:

An example non-standard unit of measure that expresses 1 Hz = 60 beats per minute, may contain these configured properties:

- Physical quantity. Frequency.
- Display name. BPM.
- Slope. 60.
- Intercept. 0.
