Create an alarm

Create an alarm to specify which value generates an alarm at runtime.
  1. In
    Project view
    , right-click
    Alarms
    , select
    New
    , and then select the alarm type.
    The alarm appears in
    Alarms
    .
  2. With the alarm selected, in
    Properties
    , in
    Input variable
    , enter or link to the variable to monitor.
  3. Depending on the alarm type, set the normal value status or limits.
    A property value displays
    Not set
     when the normal value or limit is not entered.
  4. In
    Message
    , enter the message to display when the alarm event occurs.
    For Exclusive and Non-Exclusive alarm types, you can additionally set a separate message for each alarm state.
  5. In
    Severity
    , enter the alarm priority level from
    1
     to
    1000
    .
  6. In
    Enabled
    , select
    True
    . Enabled is the default.
The alarm is created and enabled.
