Connect to the OPC UA server

Connect to the OPC UA server by using UaExpert®.
  1. In UaExpert,  select Add Server.
  2. In the
    Add Server
     window:
    1. Expand the endpoint that you set in
      FactoryTalk Optix Studio
       for the OPC UA server object and select the
      None
       security policy.
    2. In
      Authentication Settings
      , select an authentication mode for the OPC UA server object settings.
      For example, if the nodes published by the server can be accessed only by a user, the user must be authenticated.
    3. Select
      OK
      .
      The server is added to the
      Project
      .
  3. In
    Project
    , right-click the server and select
    Connect
    .
    An untrusted certificate error message appears.
  4. Select
    Trust Server Certificate
     and select
    Continue
    .
    The certificate is considered trusted and the UaExpert client connects to the server.
  5. Once the server is stored in UaExpert, right-click the server and select
    Connect
    .
