Establish communications with the controller via USB

Use these steps to establish communications with the controller via USB.
To establish communications with the controller via USB
  1. Power on the controller.
  2. Plug the USB cable between the computer and the controller.
  3. In
    FactoryTalk Design Workbench
    , open
    Online center
     by doing one of the following:
    • Select Online center button .
    • In
      Project Organizer
      , right-click the controller node, and then select
      Download
      .
  4. In
    Online center
    , select open-select-device button.
  5. In
    Select device
    , select the
    Micro870
     L70E controller located under the virtual backplane, and then select
    OK
    . The controller is now recognized in
    FactoryTalk Design Workbench
    .
