DataMosaix Architecture

DataMosaix Architecture
FactoryTalk DataMosaix is a SaaS/Cloud application with extractors deployed on the edge that connects to data sources. Applications connect to the DataMosaix cloud to access the data they need. In this document, DataMosaix is both the Rockwell written management console and Cognite Data Fusion (CDF). The Management Console (for example, the app that starts when you click on the FactoryTalk Hub tile) will be referred to as the DataMosaix Management Console and the greater set of services as DataMosaix. You get to the CDF portion of DataMosaix by clicking on the
Main DataMosaix
link in the Management Console.
DataMosaix is accessed by logging in to FT Hub. FT Hub is to define users, entitlements, and basic go/no-go access to the application. Fine-grained access is defined inside of the DataMosaix Management Console. This will be covered in detail below.
Applications, such as Grafana or PowerBI can be configured to use the data in DataMosaix. The online documentation covers how to set it up. To read more, refer to Analyze Data.
In addition, there are Industry Solutions applications, developed by Rockwell, to suit the needs of specific industries. These are built using DataMosaix as a foundation. The initial set of applications include Energy Manager, Batch Performance Analytics (BPA), and Asset Intelligence (AI) for Mining.
