Step 3: Import the updated device list to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client

After lifecycle information is retrieved successfully with the standalone
FactoryTalk AssetCentre Lifecycle Information Transfer Utility
, import the updated device list back to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client.
Prerequisite
  • Make sure that you have the
    Update Lifecycle Metadata Using Airgap Lifecycle Transfer
     permission.
    To configure this permission, go to
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
     >
    Policies
     >
    Product Policies
     >
    FactoryTalk AssetCentre
     >
    Feature Security
     >
    Assets Inventory and Lifecycle Policies
    .
To import the updated device list to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client
  1. Sign in to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client, and then select
    Tools
     >
    Airgap Lifecycle Transfer
    . Make sure that this web client and the web client used to export the device list belong to the same FactoryTalk AssetCentre server.
  2. On
    Import Lifecycle Information
    , select the browse button to import the ACPL file exported with the retrieved lifecycle information.
  3. Enter the passphrase to decrypt the updated device list, and then select
    Import
    .
