Step 1: Export the device list from the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client

Prerequisite
  • Make sure that you have the
    Update Lifecycle Metadata Using Airgap Lifecycle Transfer
     permission.
    To configure this permission, go to
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
     >
    Policies
     >
    Product Policies
     >
    FactoryTalk AssetCentre
     >
    Feature Security
     >
    Assets Inventory and Lifecycle Policies
    .
To export the device list from the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client
  1. Sign in to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client, and then select
    Tools
     >
    Airgap Lifecycle Transfer
    .
  2. On
    Export Device List
    , enter a passphrase to encrypt your exported device list.
  3. Confirm your passphrase, and then select
    Export
    .
  4. Find the exported ACPL file at C:\Users\<Signed-in User>\Downloads. Copy this file to a computer with internet access that can connect to the PCDC.
