Assumptions

This guide does not cover the installation of the other FactoryTalk Analytics application.
On Linux the installation and migration process must be run from a non-root account with sudo privileges.
IMPORTANT:
The FTA Security provider service must be installed and run from the fta-security user account and not by root or any other user. Using accounts other than fta-security is a security risk and will cause file ownership problems that can break the service.
The PostgreSQL database is required for Security Provider. If the database server is running on a different host machine than Security Provider, the PostgreSQL Command Line Tools must be installed on the same machine as the Security Provider. The setup scripts use the PSQL command for some database and server setup.
Additionally for new installations the guide assumes that PostgreSQL has been installed and the user has an admin account to create new user and a new database.
