PointX view parameters (output)

The
Pulse Width Modulation - PointX
view includes these parameters:
Parameter
Description
Enable Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)
Select to enable PWM. Clear the checkbox to disable PWM. These values are contained in the Output tags and must be edited in the Output tags or through Program Control. The option is displayed here (while online) to help in configuring PWM.
  • PWM On Time
displays the time that a pulse is active. By default, this value is defined in seconds. You can choose to define the value as a percentage of the cycle time by selecting
    On Time in Percent
    .
  • PWM Cycle Time
displays the duration of each pulse cycle.
Minimum On Time
Type the minimum time required for the output to turn On. This value must be defined in seconds. By default, the minimum on time is 0.0 seconds.
Extend Cycle to Accommodate Minimum On Time
Select the checkbox to increase the pulse cycle duration to maintain the On time to Cycle time ratio while taking into account the minimum On time. Extending the cycle time is typically useful only when the On time is dynamic.
Clear the checkbox if you do not want to increase the duration of the pulse cycle. In this case, the output does not turn On if the On time is less than the minimum On time. By default, the checkbox is cleared.
Stagger Output to Adjust Cycle Phase to Minimize Simultaneous Outputs
Select the checkbox to minimize the load on the power system by staggering output transitions.
Clear the checkbox to disable staggering. When staggering is disabled for an output point, the output always turns On at the beginning of a pulse cycle.
On Time in
Define the On Time in seconds or as a percent of the Cycle Time.
Enable Cycle Limit
Select the checkbox to allow only a fixed number of pulse cycles to occur.
Clear the checkbox to allow the pulse cycles to continue until the output turns off.
Cycle Limit
Type the number of pulses to occur if
Enable Cycle Limit
is selected (1 … 127).
Execute All Cycles
Select the checkbox to always execute the number of cycles specified in the Cycle Limit field regardless of the output state.
Clear the checkbox to limit the number of cycles by the output state. By default, the
Execute All Cycles
checkbox is cleared.
Copy PWM Configuration
Select to copy the current output point configuration to one or more of the remaining output points.
