Attendees to learn about how security risks can impact safety

MILWAUKEE – Rockwell Automation will be sharing practical steps to identify and manage security-related safety risks at the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Safety 2018 conference being held June 3-6 in San Antonio. The annual event offers education and training on best practices and technologies for all levels of safety management.

At Safety 2018, Steve Ludwig, program manager at Rockwell Automation, will present “Four Ways Safety Engineers Can Help Mitigate Security-Related Safety Risks.” The session will address the challenges and solutions for managing safety in a converged enterprise and how defense-in-depth security, risk assessments and a holistic safety culture can help impact operational effectiveness.

Attendees will also learn about how to work with IT and OT teams to integrate safety and security to better identify and manage risk.

The Rockwell Automation technical session S707 is planned for June 6 at 7:45 a.m. A white paper on the topic titled “Safety Through Security” is available for download here.
