Create a retentivity storage
Create a retentivity storage object to retain data of specific project
nodes.
- Create a retentivity storage object:
- InProject view, right-clickRetentivity.
- Select .A newRetentivityStorageobject displays under#Retentivity.
- (optional) InProperties, inName, selectto rename the object.

- Select project nodes to retain their data:IMPORTANT: Ensure that retentivity storages monitor independent parts of the project (Nodes) and do not intersect with each other. For more information about nodes, see Nodes and Project nodes.
- InProperties, next toNodes, select.

- (optional) Selectto rename the node.

- Create a dynamic link between the node from 2.a and an actual project node. For more information about dynamic links, see Create dynamic links.
- (optional) Expand the node. InKind, set the node kind by creating a dynamic link.
- (optional) Expand the node. InNodeClass, select the class of the node or create a dynamic link.
- Specify how often new data from the selected project nodes is saved by doing one of the following:TIP: The default zero value may stress the hard disk drive if large portions of the project are retained or if values are changing often. Specifying a longer write delay puts the project at risk of potentially losing data included in the set delay interval.
- InWrite delay, enter milliseconds by selecting.

- InWrite delay, selectand create a dynamic link.
Add Dynamic LinkFor more information about dynamic links, see Create dynamic links.
- Decide to retain only the changes that are already stored or not:
- InDelta observer enabled, set the value.
- InDelta observer enabled, select.
