Replace door units with unit only dataset

A door represents an empty space within the Motor Control Center. When a new unit is purchased, you can only purchase a unit only dataset that represents the new unit and can be imported into IntelliCENTER to replace the door.
  1. To exchange an empty door with a unit only data set either:
    • In the
      Elevation
       view, right-click on an empty door and select
      Replace unit
      .
    • In the
      IntelliCENTER
       explorer, expand the lineup tree structure to locate a door and right-click and select
      Replace unit
  2. Import either:
    • Unit only data. Under
      Databases
      , select
      Browse
      , and navigate to the dataset folder.
    • Unit only documentation. Under
      Documentation
      , select
      Browse
       to navigate to the folder.
  3. Select
    Import
     to import the dataset files into FactoryTalk Design Studio.
    TIP: A new unit must be the same size or smaller than the door unit it is replacing. If the new unit is larger than the door unit, you can create a larger door by combining door units within the same section. Door units can be moved between sections to create a larger space within the section.
  4. (optional) To combine the doors within the same section:
    1. In
      Elevation
       view, right-click an empty door and select
      Merge doors
      .
    2. In
      Merge doors
      , select one or more doors to combine with the selected door.
    3. Select the location for the combined door.
    TIP: To merge doors, a section must contain at least two doors.
