Event will feature an innovation competition to explore how new technologies can help improve mining
MILWAUKEE – Rockwell Automation is sponsoring the #DisruptMining event taking place Sunday in Toronto. The event will host an on-site innovation competition to accelerate the use of digital technologies that can enhance productivity, efficiencies, safety and sustainability in mining operations. Finalists will pitch their innovations to a “Shark Tank”-style panel of industry specialists.
Presented by Goldcorp, #DisruptMining encourages attendees to demonstrate new ideas for addressing industry challenges, such as aging infrastructure and shrinking labor pools. More than 1,000 mining executives, investors and financiers will be in attendance with a common goal to encourage disruptive and innovative change for the mining industry.
“#DisruptMining empowers innovators to embrace digital transformation”, said Paul McRoberts, North American industry manager at Rockwell Automation. “We at Rockwell Automation are passionate about using new technology to help create more efficient processes, reduce safety risks and solve workforce challenges. Every day we help customers address common industry challenges with IIoT technologies and a modern control system. This sponsorship with Goldcorp supports our vision of helping customers build a truly connected mine.”
