Rockwell Automation, Inc., the world's largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation, has announced its participation at FACHPACK 2024, a leading packaging trade fair in Germany, taking place from September 24 to 26 in Nuremberg. The company will be co-exhibiting alongside Packaging Valley, a network of companies and organizations in the packaging industry in southern Germany.
At Fachpack, manufacturers across the packaging industry can explore how cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, AI, and automation can enhance existing industrial processes, leading to improved efficiency and innovation in packaging solutions. Visitors to the Rockwell Automation booth, 3C-422, can explore the convergence of flexible equipment, digital solutions, and cybersecurity services that are transforming packaging operations.
"We are looking forward to participating in FACHPACK 2024 and to showcasing our innovative solutions for smart packaging," said Uwe Keiter, managing director and sales director OEM Germany, Rockwell Automation. "Our goal is to help packaging manufacturers achieve future-proof, collaborative, and sustainable operations through advanced automation and digitalization."
Key highlights at the Rockwell Automation booth include:
- Flexibility in machine design and operations: While manufacturers can achieve product variety and speed with Rockwell Automation’s iTRAK 5730 intelligent track system, ArmorKinetix® Distributed Servo Drives offer greater design flexibility for machines, allowing engineers to strategically place drives and easily scale up operations by adding modules without the need for extensive cabinet modifications or searching for new space.
- Smart Manufacturing: Manufacturing execution systems (MES) are a key element of smart production processes such as the on-premises FactoryTalk® CPGSuite®, or Plex MES, a leading cloud-based solution to streamline workflows and enable data-driven decision making.
- Smart Maintenance: To plan, track, and measure maintenance from anywhere, manufacturers can leverage the Fiix® cloud-based CMMS software for computerized maintenance management.
- Asset & IP Protection: Through a trusted network and cybersecurity services including ecosystem partners like Cisco, Claroty, Dragos, and Fortinet, consumer packaged goods companies can improve the security of their packaging operations. In addition, Rockwell Automation’s Verve industrial asset inventory system and vulnerability management platform builds resilience by mitigating cybersecurity risk.
- Connected Workforce: By combining MES and CMMS solutions, consumer packaged goods companies can digitalize workflows to support their employees. The FactoryTalk® Optix™ platform offers intuitive human machine interface (HMI) and IoT functionality for enhanced collaboration.
- Digital Tools: To further support design productivity and concurrent engineering, Emulate3D™ software delivers dynamic models – or “digital twins” – that can be used to solve technical challenges early in the equipment development cycle while AR/VR solutions by Rockwell Automation augment the packaging industry’s workforce and further support digital transformation.
- Sustainability: To enable productivity and energy optimization, contributing to sustainability goals, packaging companies can rely on Rockwell Automation’s core portfolio and work with FactoryTalk® Energy Manager™.
To highlight the impact of automation and digitalization on sustainability in the packaging industry, visitors can also explore how Rockwell Automation collaborates with partners, including The Packaging Group (TPG) and ECONO-PAK.
"We look forward to engaging with end-users and OEMs with the aim to understand their upcoming challenges and to demonstrate how our solutions can help them achieve their business objectives,” continued Keiter.
