Alejandro describes the results as “mind-blowing.” He goes on to say, “In some cases, we have reduced water consumption by 75% and we have increased production by 16% in one year just with automation. That’s an increase of about 107 million liters of tequila.”

Further, and importantly for customers, the solution automatically generates reports that meet the FDA’s requirements.

In addition to facilitating compliance, the increased visibility and data have led to valuable insights and improvement opportunities. “We know how much time it takes for the entire process. What was the consumption of water, energy and soap? What are the comparisons and where are the deviations?” he says. “What we are doing in the industry is changing from reactive production to proactive production.”

Both Alejandro and Eduardo agree that productivity and sustainability are inherently linked.

“It’s not that difficult,” Eduardo says. “We just have to change the way we produce. Bring the industry a better way to use the systems they already have in place so they can use water, energy and all of those important resources more efficiently.”
