Course Purpose

This course will provide you with techniques needed to facilitate operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PowerFlex® 755T drives. 

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will have learned and should be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Identify drive hardware and features
  • Recognize proper drive and motor operation
  • Recognize the significance of all the key parameters
  • Troubleshoot drive malfunctions using wiring diagrams, and fault and alarm codes

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for technicians and electrical maintenance personnel engaged in the maintenance and troubleshooting of PowerFlex 755T drives.

Prerequisites

To successfully complete this course, the following prerequisites are required:

  • Working knowledge of electricity, and knowledge of electrical and industrial safety (including PPE requirements and safe practices)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical principles and circuits
  • Working knowledge of PWM drive basics and AC motor theory

Technology Requirements

All technology is provided for student use by Rockwell Automation. It is not necessary for students to bring any technology with them when attending this course.

Course Agenda

Day 1

  • Recognize the PowerFlex 755T product line
  • Identify PowerFlex 755T catalog numbers
  • Explain active front end operation
  • Recognize and evaluate drive hardware
  • Troubleshoot PowerFlex 750-series equipment malfunctions
  • Explain reactor inductor filter protection and operation
  • Identify PowerFlex 755T insulated gate bipolar transistors and filters
  • Examine the function of PowerFlex 755T ports

Day 2

  • Use the HIM to perform a drive autotune startup
  • Use Connected Components Workbench Software to:
    • Locate and modify drive parameters
    • Identify fault and alarm codes
    • Perform a drive autotune startup
    • Upload and download drive parameters
  • Configure parameters: 
    • To enable feedback loss
    • To enable emergency override
    • For two AC line sources
  • Configure the energy pause option
  • DC precharge operation
