Disable downloads to the HMI device

Downloads to the HMI device are enabled by default. Disable downloads to the HMI device as a security measure. This prevents replacing the current application when downloading an application from
View Designer
. The
Allow downloads and Firmware Updates
 option applies to downloads,
ControlFLASH™
, and Reset Service requests.
To disable downloads
  1. On the HMI device or in the
    System Banner
    , select
    Navigation
    Icon: NavigationMenuButton and then select
    Settings
    .
  2. Select
    HMI Device
    . The
    HMI Device
    popup opens.
  3. Clear
    Allow downloads and Firmware Updates
    . Project downloads to the HMI device are now denied.
    TIP:
    Select
    Allow downloads and Firmware Updates
    to download another project.
  4. Select
    Close
    Close button in Designer.
