Synchronization error: <controller_name>. Unable to access data from <ACD_file>. View Designer cannot access secured Logix Designer projects. (0x500010000009)

Possible cause and solution:
  • The .acd file may be secured.
    View Designer
     cannot access the data from tags, and the Tag Browser cannot be used to browse tags, in the secured file.
    Unsecure the project file. You must have the appropriate security privilege in
    Logix Designer
    . In Logix Designer on the
    Controller Properties
     dialog box, click the
    Security
    tab and set
    Security Authority
    to
    No Protection
    . Alternatively, replace the secured project file in the controller with an unsecured version of the project file.
