Reuse a tag between data logs

To reuse a tag from one data log in another data log, cut or copy the tag and paste it in another data log. Reuse tags to place configured tags in a data log.
Prerequisites
  • In the
    Project Explorer
    , expand the
    Data Logs
    folder and double-click the source data log to open it.
To reuse a tag between data logs
  1. Scroll to select the tag rows to cut or copy:
    • Individual.
      Select the empty row header at the beginning of the row.
    • Consecutive.
      Select the empty row header at the beginning of the first row to delete, hold down
      Shift
      , and select the empty row header at the beginning of the last row to delete.
    • Nonconsecutive.
      Select the empty row header at the beginning of a row, hold down
      Ctrl
      , and select the empty row header at the beginning of additional rows.
  2. Right-click the selected tags and select an option:
    • Cut.
      Remove the tags from the source data log and copy them to the clipboard.
    • Copy.
      Leave the tags in the source data log and copy them to the clipboard.
  3. Open the target data log.
  4. Paste the tags in the data log:
    • Without replacing existing tags. Right-click the empty row header at the beginning of the last row in the data log and select
      Paste
      . The tags appear at the end of the data log.
    • Replace existing tags. Select the same number of tags rows to be replaced in the data log as are pasted to the clipboard, right-click the selected tags, and then select
      Paste
      . The tags replace the selected tags.
