Exceptions page
Use the settings on Exceptions page to define the action performed by the drive as a result of an exception condition. Exceptions are conditions that can occur during motion axis operation that could generate faults or alarms.
The associated drive of the axis controls which actions are available for each Exception. When a fault or alarm occurs, the corresponding fault or alarm axis attributes are set.
IMPORTANT:
Modifying the Exception Action settings may require programmatically stopping or disabling the axis to protect personnel, machine, and property.
TIP:
- The method used for stopping an axis for a Stop Drive exception action depends on the specific exception condition as determined by the drive. The action does NOT depend on the configuredDisable (MSF) Stopping Actionparameter on theActionspage.
- When a previously selected entry is no longer supported due to a configuration change, most of the conditions default toDisable. In the few cases whereDisabledoes not apply, the default isFault Status Only. For example,Disabledoes not apply with a feedback-only type configuration.
TIP:
To open the Exceptions page:
- In theController Organizer, expand theMotion Groupsfolder, and double-click an axis.
- From theAxis Propertiesdialog box, inCategories, clickExceptions.
The Exceptions page includes these parameters.
