CIP Safety™
system. In this example, the system is not interconnected to another CIP Safety™

A | For a backplane port, an SNN is assigned to the backplane and the node address is the slot number of the device. |
B | For an Ethernet port, an SNN is assigned to the EtherNet/IP™ network and the node address is the IP address of the device. |
C | For a controller in Dual-IP mode and connected to two separate EtherNet/IP™ networks, they must not share SNN values because the switches can incorrectly route packets between them. |
