Configure a static network

Configure a static network by adding a system object and configuring its parameters.
  1. Create a system object instance:
    1. In
      Type view
      , double-click
      System
      .
    2. Drag
      System
      from
      Type view
      to
      Model
      in
      Project view
      .
      At runtime,
      FactoryTalk Optix Studio
creates an object for each network interface (wired) detected on the machine.
  2. In
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio
    , select
    Run
to run the project using the client emulator to test your project. To run the project on a remote client, see Add a client device.
  3. At runtime, set the relevant values.
TIP: In case of a configuration error,
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio
shows an error message in the FTOptixRuntime log.
Restart the machine to complete the configuration.
TIP: If the DHCP service is active within the System object, the addresses automatically assigned by the DHCP server are saved.
