Update the Configuration in the Logix Designer Application for Redundancy
To update the I/O Configuration tree in the Logix Designer application for redundancy, follow these steps.
IMPORTANT:
Do not place I/O modules in a redundant chassis.
- If you have I/O modules in the chassis with the controller, add anEtherNet/IP™communication module.1756-EN3TR communication modules are not supported in a redundant chassis.
- Because I/O modules must be in a separate chassis, add anotherEtherNet/IP™adapter under the adapter you added.You can now move the I/O modules to the new chassis in the I/O Configuration tree.
- Copy the I/O modules and paste them into the chassis of the newly added communication module.
- Delete the I/O modules from the controller chassis configuration.
- Move any remote communication from the controller front port to anEtherNet/IP™module in the local chassis. This step is required because once redundancy is enabled, the front ports on the controller can only be used for Front Port Crossload mode.
