Export a View Designer project

Export a
View Designer
 project as a set of files. You can import the exported files to another
View Designer
 project, and you can use any text editor to modify the project. Network paths and Sharepoint are not supported, but you can use drive mapping. For more information, see Best practices and limitations.
  1. With the project open in
    Studio 5000 View Designer
    , from the menu bar, select
    File > Export Project
    .
  2. In the
    Export project
    window, enter or browse to the location where you want to export the project.
    TIP:
    Name
    contains the name of the project as it appears in
    View Designer
    .
  3. Select
    Export
    . When export finishes successfully, a prompt appears.
  4. To open the location of the exported content, select the link to the file path. The location contains a folder with the same name as the exported
    View Designer
     project.
  5. Use a text editor to open any exported file and view or edit the content.
