Define the server connection

Before you begin using an Excel Add-in, you need to configure a connection to each
FactoryTalk Historian ME
 and
FactoryTalk Historian SE
 server that you are going to use with the Add-in.
To define a server connection to
FactoryTalk Historian SE
 or
FactoryTalk Historian ME
  1. Go to
    Start > Programs > Rockwell Software > FactoryTalk Historian SE > FactoryTalk Historian SE System > About PI-SDK
    .
    The
    PI SDK Utility
     window appears.
  2. On the
    Connections
     menu, click
    Add server
    .
    The
    Add PI Server
     dialog box appears.
  3. In the
    Network Path/FQDN
     box, type the IP address of your
    FactoryTalk Historian SE
     or
    FactoryTalk Historian ME
    .
  4. Click
    OK
    .
    The server is added to the server list.
  5. Select the check box next to the server.
    The connection details appear in the right pane of the
    PI SDK Utility
     window.
    The connection status appears at the bottom of the window.
  6. Repeat the steps for each server that you are going to use with the Add-in.
