Delete a device

Delete a device to remove the device from a bus and the project. Devices connected to buses below the deleted device are disconnected and returned to the
Unassigned
 folder in
Device Explorer
.
TIP: Any changes made to devices while online will only impact the offline project.
To delete a device
  1. On the explorer bar, select Devices Icon
    Devices
    .
  2. In
    Devices
    , right-click a device in the list, then select Delete
    Delete
    . The device is removed from the project.
NOTE: When you delete a device, the devices assigned to it become unassigned, and on rack optimized devices, the device connection type reverts to the default setting, Data.
