Change controller properties

Use the settings in
Properties
to change the controller name and description. When online with the controller, you can toggle toggle between offline and online workstation between viewing the controller properties in the offline workstation offline workstation and the online workstation online workstation.
  1. On the explorer bar, select Devices Icon
    Devices
    .
  2. In
    Devices
    , select the controller.
  3. If
    Properties
    is not open, on the pane bar, select Properties Icon
    Properties
    .
  4. In
    Properties
    , under
    General
    , change:
    • Name
      . The unique name of the controller.
      TIP: Controller names:
      • Can contain up to 40 valid characters.
      • Can contain only alphanumeric characters and underscores
      • Must begin with a letter or an underscore
      • Cannot contain consecutive underscores
      • Must end with a character other than an underscore
      • Can be edited only when offline with the controller.
    • Description
      . The description of the purpose of the controller in the system.
