Remove a FactoryTalk Smart Object instance from the definition

Remove
FactoryTalk Smart Object
 instance from the definition to no longer have the instance update when modifying the definition of the
FactoryTalk Smart Object
. Removing the instance of a
FactoryTalk Smart Object
 from the definition removes all associated
FactoryTalk Smart Object
 from the definition. This makes the
FactoryTalk Smart Object
 instance a standalone
FactoryTalk Smart Object
.
IMPORTANT: Modifying FactoryTalk Smart Objects using the Code Editor may result in syntax errors that will prevent the explorers from displaying information. We recommend using the user interface to create or modify FactoryTalk Smart Objects.
  1. On the explorer bar, select
    System
    .
  2. Right-click the
    FactoryTalk Smart Object
     instance and select
    Remove instance from definition
    .
  3. Select
    Remove
    . The instance is no longer associated with the definition.
