View panes

Toggle to view panes at a specific location in the user interface.

 retains pane location and view status when you exit and then restart

  1. From the
    View
    menu, select the pane to view:
    • Explorers
      . Select the explorer to appear in the left pane by default:
      • System
        explorer. View the
        FactoryTalk Smart Object
        s of your system under which to create a program and routine and the tags and parameters of the
        FactoryTalk Smart Object
        .
      • Execution
        explorer. View and organize the contents of a project to design a physical model of your project.
      • Library
        explorer. Move a
        FactoryTalk Smart Object
         definition from the
        System
        explorer to reuse the
        FactoryTalk Smart Object
         from the library.
    • Properties
      . This pane appears in the right pane by default.
    • Toolbox
      . This pane appears in the right pane by default.
    • FactoryTalk Design Studio Copilot
      . This pane appears in the right pane by default.
    • Output
      . View error, warning, and information messages for the routine in your project.
  2. On the pane bar, toggle to view panes at the specified location:
    • Left Pane icon
      Left panes
      . Displays panes last pinned to the left side.
    • Right Pane icon
      Right panes
      . Displays panes last pinned to the right side.
    • Bottom Pane icon
      Bottom panes
      . Displays panes last pinned at the bottom.
      TIP: To view the panes from the menu bar, select
      View
      and then select
      Left panes
      ,
      Right panes
      , or
      Bottom panes
      .
  3. (optional) To change where panes appear, Set layout.
