Rockwell Automation, the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation, today announced Evenort Ltd, a manufacturer serving the nuclear, oil, and gas sectors, has selected Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform to support its business growth and operational requirements.
Evenort operates in a competitive environment characterized by demand for both custom-engineered orders as well as high-volume, off-the-shelf stainless-steel products. The company identified the need for a manufacturing platform capable of supporting its dual business model and enabling continued growth.
“Evenort’s ability to respond to customer requirements - whether for bespoke orders or standard components - remains central to our business,” said Craig McKay, chief executive officer of Evenort Ltd Group. “The Plex platform provides industry-specific functionality, flexibility and real-time operational visibility required to optimize our processes and support our growth objectives.”
A key factor in Evenort’s selection of Plex – including a manufacturing execution system (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and quality management system (QMS) – was the platform’s built-in mill certification tracking, enabling the company to record and manage the chemical composition of steel. This capability is essential for compliance with regulatory standards in the nuclear industry and available in Plex without the need for additional customization.
“The ability to manage steel mill certifications and support both custom and repetitive manufacturing within a single system was a significant consideration in our decision,” McKay said.
Plex's cloud-based technology provides manufacturers with a digital infrastructure that continually updates to the latest software version. This dynamism increases cost predictability while ensuring compliance and strengthening operational resiliency. Empowered by Plex's real-time data, Evenort is expected to optimize machine performance, identify bottle necks, and progress in their journey toward autonomous operations.
Evenort’s decision to implement Plex is aligned with the company’s commitment to the tradition of manufacturing excellence in Sheffield, a region of the United Kingdom with a history of metals production spanning several hundred years. The adoption of advanced digital manufacturing technology is intended to support Evenort’s continued contribution to this legacy.
“Plex was chosen for its ability to address Evenort’s specific requirements and to provide a modular platform that will scale as the business continues to grow,” said Sarah Dana, director of enterprise software sales, north Europe, Rockwell Automation. “Our commitment to offering flexible MES offerings and industry alignment was a key factor in the selection process.”
